Olympia, The London International Horse Show
This event is the longest-served in our portfolio – the 2021 edition will be the 21st year we have worked on the Show (including three years in house!). Unique in scope and requirement, the event takes 11 days to build, and nowhere else do you have the mix of animals on site, entertainment, shopping, hospitality and world-class sport. We love the Show and the operational challenges it brings – we might go from organising furniture or sorting out horse visas one moment, to taking delivery of jumps or liaising with hospitlity caterers in the space of five minutes!
Scotland’s Trade Fair
Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring takes place over 3 days from 20th to 22nd January 2019 at Glasgow’s SEC. Over 500 companies exhibit thousands of products to 5000 trade buyers from department stores, multiples, mail-order, online, tourist attractions and independent retail outlets who attend the show.
We love this event and are ever grateful that it is a trade show, and not open to the buying public (which would includes us). We love the Scottish ethos, the SEC and everything about these unique Scottish events.
House & Garden Festival
This unique event combines the oldest antiques fair in London with a contemporary and stylish interiors fair and the best gifts you can think of to buy over the summer. With more than two weeks on site and a long build up to incorporate Freeman’s Architectural shell scheme, the House & Garden Festival is another unique event in our portfolio.

Meet the team
Marisa Beckman formed Inovent in January 2003 after working for Clarion Events (part of the Earls Court group) from 1994 to 2003. Starting as Show Administrator, Marisa’s last position at Clarion was as Acting Show Director on the Royal Smithfield Show. Responsibilities also included Company Health & Safety Manager. Since 2003 Inovent has gone from strength to strength, and somehow Marisa fitted in having Archie, now 8 years old. Our unique approach to staffing means that we have a pool of event professionals who we bring in on an event-by-event basis, matching each person individually to your event.
James Tozer is a key member of the team and we work with James across a number of projects including this year’s PLASA shows. James also has his own event consultancy, Catalyst Events.
Marisa was my first (and best) boss back in the days of Earls Court in the early 2000s. I joined the Inovent team in 2014 a little older and wiser and have now worked in Operations in a variety of sectors but mostly the travel and outdoor leisure industry.
I live on the family farm and my colleagues always seem fascinated by the daily piggy pranks, cattle capers and sheep shenanigans.
Alex is our outdoor events specialist, which means he can indulge his love of sturdy outdoor clothing! Since 2008 has worked on Royal Windsor Horse Show as Site Manager, and on the Game Fair. One-off events on which Alex has also worked include the Diamond Jubilee Pageant, the 2012 London Olympics (equestrian), and The Queen’s 90th Birthday celebration, alongside several WW1 commemoration events.
On site, Alex is most often seen sitting on a golf buggy, eating haribo, drinking coffee and obsessively checking his favourite weather site yr.no – all the way from Norway! Off site – well a drink, a fishing rod, son Archie and lurcher Truckle are all he needs to relax!
Felicity, in her Operational role, has an amazing eagle eye for detail, loves to proof read and has an endless amount of patience with our exhibiting clients.
Felicity lives in Wales with her sculptor husband, Robert Rattray (rattraysculptures.com) and children, William 11, and Eleanor 10, along with their lurchers Myrtle and Tigger.
Joanna Mee became part of the team in 2018, backing us all up as required behind the scenes, and keeping all of our systems moving forward by bringing some real innovation to our business.
I got a my first glimpse of the Inovent Exhibitions team while working at Olympia London for Levy UK, and was delighted to join up with Marisa in 2018, when I started my own freelance event management company ‘LIG Events’.
Since then I have worked on the House and Garden Festival, Art & Antiques for Everyone NEC, European Coffee, Tea & Soft Drinks Expo, and the London International Horse Show to name a few. I live however in Cornwall and enjoy getting the most out of the Cornish seaside when I can – especially kayaking and inevitably falling off my paddle board!
Alison Judge has worked in exhibitions since leaving college, so for far longer than she cares to remember now. She has worked with Inovent Exhibitions Ltd since 2004 on numerous projects including: Olympia, the London International Horse Show, Grand Designs Live, Leaders in Football conference, Fashion Press Week, Publishing Expo, Blenheim Palace Tattoo & Country Fair, La Dolce Vita, Wales Rally GB & The Baby Show. Alison is currently the Club Coordinator on Clarion Events’ Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show and Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show.
Experienced in both the Operational and Marketing aspects of event organising, she is eminently capable and reliable – always one to pick up on the detail, she will always be remembered for her radio call years ago as the London Motor Show opened its doors to the crowds … “Errm, there’s a cherry picker driving down the main gangway … no really there is a cherry picker in the main gangway”!
Alison lives in Hungerford with son Stanley (now 7) and their dog Misty.
Our Ethos
Our Values
Inovent has three core principles that are the driving force behind everything we do
Innovation • Excellence • Trust
Sustainability & the Environment
Inovent is committed to working with our clients and contractors to make the industry more sustainable, and to reducing single-use plastics at all of the shows we are involved in. Since 2018 this had included changing to recycled printed materials, working with our signage suppliers to use alternative materials that are more sustainable and less polluting and carbon off-setting.
Charity & Community
Inovent has a programme of charitable giving through Kiva, a not-for-profit organisation that puts individuals or co-operatives directly in touch with people who would like to support them financially; www.kiva.org. At any given time we aim to have 10 loans out.
We also support initiatives in our local communities such as the Aylesbury Women’s’ shelter or local food banks / homeless centres. Our key charity is the Brain Tumour Charity who specialise in childhood brain tumour research; thebraintumourcharity.org
